The Clause is an invitation to partner with youth to support you in fulfilling your climate ambitions. Our sample clause is written for governments to include directly in their NDCs, though governments are also encouraged to individually integrate the three Clause pillars in their own language.

At COP29, the United Kingdom was the first government to officially announce they are integrating the Universal NDC Youth Clause into their ambitious new NDC — pledging not only to sign but to collaborate with all partner organizations to implement this work and uphold accountability.
